Scheduling courses over 16-week
semesters is accomplished by breaking each semester into 10-week
and five-week components. The 32-hour MBA consists primarily of
two-credit and one-credit courses. The two-credit courses are
usually delivered
two days each week in the daytime program and one evening each
week for ten weeks in the off-campus program (either on Tuesday or Thursday).
The one-credit courses are delivered one evening each week over
five weeks, or alternatively, over a long weekend (Friday
afternoon, all day Saturday, and Sunday morning). This Fall,
10-week courses run from August 27 to November 2, with the
exception of IS 574 which runs from October 1 to December 14.
The last five weeks of Fall Semester
may include some two-credit course sequences that continue into the first
five
weeks of Spring Semester (e.g., MBA 694: Entrepreneurship I and
II).
Most one-credit weekend courses and courses
delivered on the Internet (e.g., 600-level electives) will be
scheduled the last five weeks of Fall Semester and the first
five
weeks of the Spring. There is also a one-week fall break
scheduled during the last six weeks of the Fall semester. This
year that break is during Thanksgiving week (no MBA classes will
be held that week).

Full-time MBA students can complete this curriculum
in a minimum of 10 months by taking 16 credits per semester. However,
experience suggests that some students will stretch the program
out over 17 to 24 months. Students may be admitted in Spring Semester,
but cannot take MBA 603, MBA 665 or MBA 685, which require certain Fall
Semester prerequisites: IS 574, MBA 640, 660, 694(Competitive
Strategy), and FIN 681. New
students may take ACCT 605 and IS 650 in the spring along with
various electives scheduled in that term, completing MBA 603,
665 & 685 the following spring.
